Rant

My daughter is involved in a city choir and each year they go on a spring trip. This year, I am in charge of planning that trip. I have never been on one and I have certainly never planned one. The choir conductor actually did the planning of the itinerary. It’s a three day weekend which starts early Friday morning. Today we go to Costco to get all the food for the trip. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks for 25 people. We are staying in a gym at an elementary school. There is a stove somewhere in a classroom. Conductor wants hot breakfast and dinners. We have no sink, no cooking utensils or supplies. We have to bring that, not the sink. Need I remind you that I have half my kitchen packed and at the other house. As it is I have to go dig through boxes to find luggage and sleeping bags. I think I am supposed to prepare all the food, yet he hasn’t asked me to do it. But who else is there to do it? He will be driving a truck down with the instruments he is taking with us. That means me and 17 girls and chaperones on the bus. I’m in charge. The problem is that the conductor tells me nothing. It’s kind of like he assumes I know, or that he will tell me when I need to know. Oh, and we list our house Thursday evening. So, the house has to be cleaned thoroughly before I leave. Oh, and I am planning the scrapbook craft, and the goody bags for the girls. This is not my idea of a vacation. Please pray for my attitude. It stinks right now. Well, off to Costco soon to meet the conductor and get all our food and to see how much will fit in the ONE large ice chest that he is bring for the trip. HA!
Susan

Oh Susan, I have a sick feeling in my stomach for you. I wish I could be there to help you (not that I’m better at planning, trust me). However, our God is bigger than all of this and He will help you every step of the way. It will all work out and no one will starve. Hopefully…
Just kidding! How did you happen to get picked to do the food and craft? I’m sure some of the chaperones will step up and help. Praying for you.
I hope it all goes well, in spite of the frustration! What a time for you to have to do this! It was great to see you the other night- thanks so much for being there! Rebeca
Oi! Better bring some extra ice chests! And I hope everyone has some extra money for the Dollar Menu at Wendy’s!
I will be praying for you, dear Susan. I can totally empathize with you right now. I’m feeling frazzled and stressed just thinking about it.
Praying for answers and help and for God to bless!
