This weekend is the weekend to do the kitchen cabinets. What I mean by doing is they need to be emptied, all contact paper taken off (yuck, that stuff of horrible to remove after 9 years), kitchen taped off from the rest of the house (the one benefit of a galley kitchen), cabinets sanded and then cleaned and then sprayed. I have been dreading this moment. I dread the mess most of all. I will not be able to keep dust off the rest of the house, no matter how well I tape. Thankfully a friend will be taking the girls for the day so they won’t be ignored. They will be fed too, which is honestly the hardest part of having them home during the house repairs. They have been so good, staying out of trouble and playing nicely, but it’s hard to remember to feed them when we are busy working on stuff. My kitchen contents will be moved into the office on shelves and we will be eating out until the kitchen is usable again. I really hope this isn’t going to be a week long project and that we can move back on on Sunday evening. I would love your prayers that things go smoothly if you think of it. I still am out a bathroom sink, and I hope that gets fixed before the kitchen starts. It is hard not to get frustrated with not having something completely finished and checked off the list.

Hope it all goes smoothly, and for peace of hearts and minds during the process! Erik tore out our full size (and only!) shower on Friday of last week and worked straight for four days installing a bathtub. It’s still not useable though, since remudding, taping, and painting the walls, and caulking it, are slowly taking place in the evenings after work. So I can relate just a little to “living in the middle of a project!” I’m very, very happy though, to be getting a bathtub finally, and God has given me grace to keep smiling and being thankful even though it’s been such a long and messy project. I pray He gives you that grace too!
Yeah, feeding time! LOL, they just keep getting hungry, cute li’l critters! I hope you have lots of advice to pass down to me when we do this project this Spring/Summer. Hope you put up the before and after pics! We were thinking of Antiquing the cabinets (White with burnt umber ) and Black Knobs. My friend did hers and they look fabulous, but she’s quite crafty, like you. What kind of countertop?
Yeah, we need new sink too. Oh boy…always glad when a project is done, right? hang in there.
