We picked up our girls yesterday at noon. It was a little awkward at first but it didn’t take long to acclimate with each other. They are both very sweet. One is more talkative than the other and her English is very good. The quiet one struggles a little bit with her English and she hasn’t eaten a whole lot. They both love the girls and have been entertained by them. Girl 1 (talkative one) loves our cats. She is always looking for them. It is cute. She says she can’t have pets because it would interfere with her lessons. When I told them I homeschool they said, “oh, they are happy girls”. Funny huh! Today we kept them busy with Church, lunch, a short hike, a trip to Costco, then Safeway, then to Old Navy. Girl 1 wanted a t-shirt with a flag on it and thankfully Old Navy still had some in supply from the 4th of July. My inlaws came over for dinner and we BBQ’d hamburgers. It’s been a busy day, and I have a feeling most days will be similar. I have most everything laid out to pack for their lunch tomorrow and they start their first day of classes. Some things they want to do with us: Go to the mall, see a waterfall (in which we have several to chose from within close driving distance), see a movie. Next weekend we will take them to the Saturday Market to see some local handcrafted items for sale. Their biggest disappointment: Everything is made in China! So far so good. I know I am going to be pooped at the end of two weeks. But it is a good kind of pooped.

I’ll be praying for you and your new family members.
That is so funny about everything being made in China!
When we were leaving for Beijing I asked my friend if there was anything she wanted me to bring back for her. She gave me this odd look and said… “Helloooo! If I want anything from China I’ll just go down the street to Wal-mart!”
Touche…touche…
Prayers continuing for you, your family and the girls. I am glad that on a girly level they have bonded….how cute! I love the comment about where everything is made…quite funny.
Sounds like it’s going good. How exciting for your girls to get some intense time with girls from another country. That cracks me up about the ‘made in China’ stuff. I didn’t even think about THAT issue!

How exciting! My girls would love to have some exchange students stay with us but there just isn’t room.
Hmmm, Is something going on with WordPress? This is the second WordPress blog I’ve seen today that looks exactly like this; no pictures, no graphics, just plain white background and black text. I don’t know why I wouldn’t be able to view it now when I could before but still, you never know with computers.
