Tomorrow arrives our two Chinese students. Did you catch that? Not one but two little girls will be joining us for two week. I think we are all ready for them, but honestly I have no idea what to expect. Will they like our food? What time should I have them go to bed? How well will they be able to communicate with us? Will they be uncomfortable with saying grace at the dinner table and going to church with us? How well will we adapt from a family of five to a temporary family of 7? If you think of it, please send a prayer for a smooth two weeks. We are looking forward to all the activity, but I am anticipating being exhausted by the time it is over. Hopefully I will be able to post some photos.

We recently had a Chinese exchange student at our church. She had been here in TX since January and recently returned to Beijing. She was a very nice girl! The girls at church loved having her fix their hair– lots of pigtails and funky clips.
Since your students are staying for a short time, I’m not sure what their level of English will be… but they should be prepared enough to speak enough to get by. You know, the basics.
As far as church goes, I would think that most of the students, if invited, would be compelled to go just out of curiosity and to see what real American life is like. I’ll be praying that your family and church will be a real witness to these young ladies… Even the smallest seeds that are planted can grow…
Two weeks is such a doable chunk of time. I can’t wait to hear how this goes for you guys. I have this feeling your gonna get your socks blessed off!
very neato! can’t wait to hear all about your experiences with them.
What a wonderful opportunity for your family. I will pray things go smoothly and that you will be able to make a positive impact on their lives, even in such a short time.
I hope it’s great! I imagine it will be memorable for both you and them. And we’ll have to plan a get-together with you after they go. Have a good time! Rebeca
I think it sounds fun. Your girls will learn a lot about China. That’s the coolest way too!
