It was the never ending day. We got up early to go to the early service so the girls could attend Sunday School. We usually go to the late service in which there is no SS, because we can’t seem to get up early enough, but since the girls really want to attend SS we are making a grand effort to be at church on time. So, up at 7:30, church by 9:00, home by 11:00. Then what? Nothing! Fiddle here, pull weeds there, read a book, watch tv, eat, eat some more and on and on and on. It felt like the day would never end. I know I should rejoice in the day that the Lord has made, but honestly I was just tired of today. It’s nearly over and I am going to bed. Hoping for not such a long day tomorrow.

Susan…
Wow…my comments come from the other end of the spectrum.
Even though it is a day of ministry in our home (leave for church at 9am and return at 4pm) and we often open our home into the evening for guests, it remains my favorite day of the week. It is the apex of the week…right now i am rejoicing in the sabbath rest i had yesterday and i anticipate the next one God has prepared for me.
We live with the belief that everything we do, drink, eat is the best on the Lord’s Day…the best food, the best wine, the best music, the best naps (when we get them), everything…
Have you checked out http://www.abondanteliving.com? What a great website to help remind us to take the day back for a day of rest and rejoicing with God.
Remember you were not made for the sabbath, the sabbath was made for you.
Sorry it was a lousy day…I’m dragging myself back to work this morning, because I want more of what I had yesterday…

Oooo…your endless day sounds endlessly wonderful!
I would LOVE to have a lazy, slow, relaxed day that doesn’t include stripping hideous wallpaper for days on end while ignoring my children.
Ahhhh… I should most definitely pray for my next Sunday to be like that. I would love to have enough time to actually be bored!
Hope your Wednesday is more fun for ya!
Marsha
Have a wonderful rest of the week.
